Innovative design is a critical element of all of Tavan’s custom homes. We’re thrilled to be recognized twice, as a Georgie Award finalist for the interior design of our custom homes. Working closely with professional designers, our team has researched and selected incredibly beautiful and innovative products and materials to be integrated into the home’s architecture. Together we created a sophisticated, stylish home perfect for their active lifestyle.

Granville Manor – The client wanted a sophisticated home with a warm colour scheme, which we achieved with rich wood tones, and highlighted by glam-Italian touches. Entertaining their family and friends was key – both the main and lower floor were designed with this in mind. Italian, French and English influences in this home offer a traditional-contemporary style with a modern twist!
Unique details included a wine-niche in dining room and central stairway that combines modern-look glass with wrought iron railings and dark wood caps. Gorgeous hardwood flooring continues upstairs, revealing a custom cut marble-face riser.
Upstairs, the master-bedroom boasts large curved ceilings, surrounded with white wainscoting, moulding and damask wallpaper. A spectacular custom floor-to-ceiling headboard in grey velvet, is outlined in dark-stained millwork. The adjoining ensuite is literally enveloped in iceberg marble!

We successfully combined our client’s differing style preferences. Classic and contemporary elements are merged with the use of timeless wall-panelling and mouldings in modern colour-themes. Rich marble flooring provides a striking contrast with the modern lighting. Each room has elegant playfulness that ensures a comfortable home for all.
The home was laid-out intentionally for formality at front and gradually more casual ambiance moving to back, and downstairs. We created a unique identity and ambience in each room – achieved in part, via different ceiling details. The stunning entryway uses elegant marble which is inlaid with porcelain ‘wood-look’ tile. Cleverly, the foyer powder-room appears to have the floating vanity that is slicing through a decorative full-length mirror. Base finishes in the home are kept ‘classic’ and implemented in intriguing and less-traditional ways. Modern lighting/fixtures juxtaposes traditional finishing.
The lower floor was designed for entertaining! Able to accommodate small groups or large gatherings, the overall feel is very inviting.
